How Thick Is Your Skin?

Have you been rejected lately? How did it feel? In the home business and entrepreneurial industry, it is a must to have "think skin!" In the beginning, rejection is going to happen more times than you will experience success.
But how will you handle the rejection? When someone tells you you are being ridiculous starting your own business in this ecomony how are you going to react to it? Understand most people will never have the same vision, drive and determination as yourself. That's what you have to keep in mind. ALWAYS remember where YOU are going! People/prospects have a choice to either keep going their way or choose to go another - and hopefully it is with you on your journey!
Remember the story of the rhino in the jungle? A rhino has really thick skin. The story goes that a rhino sees his goal at the end of the jungle. The jungle (Your life) is filled with factors that may slow or stop the progress of the rhino. The rhino only proceeds to go forward not looking left or right for other detours. Distractions like fallen trees, intertwining vines, swamps, other animals and hunters (nay sayers - negative people) that may shoot arrows at the rhino have no effect. A rhino's skin is too thick to feel the effects of the arrows constantly attempting to pierce the skin in attempt to steer the rhino in another direction and away from it's ultimate goal.
Do you have these people in your life right now? Trying to pierce your skin to slow you down? Most entrepreneurs do! In my opinion it's one of the biggest reasons why people fail. They are taking the "arrows" and soon it becomes too painful and therefore become steered in another direction. They end up abandoning their own beliefs and vision to settle for the beliefs and the non existant vision of the "nay sayers".
Is your skin think enough to withstand the "arrows" that are attempting to steer you away from your vision, dreams and goals? If it is, that's great! You are on your way and go ahead and call yourself a RHINO!! If not, you may have some work to do. You must get very clear on what your purpose is in order to thicken your skin!
